2025 International Summer Program Begins on July 17: Welcoming International Students from Around the World

Launched in 2018, the International Summer Program (ISP) at the Graduate School of Science (GSS) is an intensive research internship designed for international students majoring in the natural sciences and related fields.

A key feature of the ISP is that participating students are assigned in a specific research group(s) at the GSS, where they engage in cutting-edge research under the supervision of faculty members. For those considering enrollment in the GSS’s international graduate programs, the ISP offers a valuable opportunity to experience “real” campus life and research at GSS firsthand.

Over the course of six weeks, students conduct research while also taking part in a variety of cultural and social activities, including excursions, student exchange events, and Japanese language lessons. These experiences help foster connections with current GSS students from both Japan and abroad. The program concludes with oral presentations in which participants share the outcomes of their research projects and experiences.
