Hello, I am Minh from Vietnam. I have just finished my Master program at Osaka University. Reflecting on my journey, I can confidently say that the past two years have been one of the most influential periods of my life. Prior to my studies in Japan, I often pondered on my chances of becoming a successful researcher, and whether I could make meaningful contributions to society. However, everything changed when I had been offered the chance to study in Japan.
As a student at Osaka University, I had the opportunity to study at a top-tier institution in my field.
My time here has been invaluable since I was exposed to cutting-edge research and witnessed firsthand how it is conducted at the highest levels. This experience has played a significant role in giving me the mindset of a real researcher and give me confident the continue my journey. I am also deeply grateful to my supervisor and colleagues in the laboratory, whose expertise and guidance have been indispensable. Working alongside such talented and experienced researchers has had a profound impact on my developments, and their support has been invaluable to me when I first needed to adapt to my new life in Japan.
Having my friends with me in Japan makes my time here feel complete. The University and Graduate School of Science organize many events and activities that help students meet and make friends. I strongly encourage everyone to participate in these activities, as many of my closest friends were made through them. Together, we have explored Japan and had unforgettable experiences that I will cherish forever. In addition, meeting with international students from diverse cultural backgrounds has been an eye-opening experience for me. Learning about their customs and perspectives has deepened my understanding and appreciation of diversity, which I believe is crucial in today’s globalized world.
In the end, I believe I have grown both as a person and in my career. Although my goal as a researcher is still far away, I am glad to continue my journey with confidence.
To all the students about to come, I have faith that you can achieve great things and I wish you a wonderful time.
